My students attend a public middle school, grades 6-8. They are in classrooms with 34-40 students of many ethnic groups and varied languages spoken as their first language. The majority speak English, although listening and reading English is more difficult for some. They are sweet, kind and want to do well, but many have or are suffering outside of school for a myriad of reasons including economical, personal disabilities, and conflicted home lives. We live in a middle class community and our school district has an excellent reputation in the state.
