I recognize that schools remain one of the safest work places in the United States but active shooter situations remain a possibility for any school. Therefore, the purpose of this request is to be prepared in case we are unfortunate enough to be in that situation. This kit will allow us to take precautionary measure to keep the intruder out of our classroom, provide the possibility for an escape, be prepared in case of a long lock-down, and as a last resort, counter the intruder. The addalock and the intruder defense systems will act as a barrier to make it hard to enter our classroom, hopefully deterring the intruder from entering our room and encouraging the intruder to move on The glass breaker and ladder will serve as tools in case we should need to escape from inside of our barricaded classroom. In the case of a shelter in place or long lock-down, the Emergency Lock-Down Kit will ensure we have water, blankets, emergency food, LED flashlight, and emergency toilet. If the intruder is actually able to enter our room, our last resort plan is to counter the intruder using the strobe light and air horns to disorient, the wasp spray and bat to handicap the intruder, and zip tie handcuffs to detain. My hope is that we NEVER have to use anything, except for training purposes, but I will feel better knowing that if anything should happen, we will be prepared.
