A whole class learning rug will provide my students with the opportunity to move up closer when teaching whole group. Currently students move up closer to the front of the classroom to better support their learning, however, they sit on tiles. Having a rug in the classroom will promote and support student engagement and flexible seating. On a rug students will be able to listen to read alouds, and form classroom discussions with their classmates sitting by them. By having a classroom rug, we will be able to have our morning and afternoon meetings. Most importantly having a rug will support having another area in the room for learning. Please help me purchase a rug for my classroom.
