In our middle school, I teach 7th grade science and 9th grade Earth Science. The students here love being able to interact with science and the things being taught. They realize that science gives them a chance to be not only mentally engaged, but often physically engaged in the work. Of course, many do get unexcited and even bored from movies, presentations, and virtual demonstrations. They would rather spend more time trying to figure something out than having someone tell them how it works.
