I love seeing the joy on my students' faces when they discover a new book that they love, or they revisit a favorite. I would like to offer them more choices to further expand their horizons. I've seen and admired other teachers for being able to buy a class set of books to give to their students as a holiday/end-of-year present. Diversity in print is extra important to me, and my students will be further encouraged to read when they see themselves in print. These books were specifically chosen to give my students more variety in the books they see. Our school library is fantastic, but it is a new school getting off the ground. I would love to be able to give my students books to keep, as well as have a variety of books for book clubs.
