My students are English Language Learners who mostly come from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds in a low-income community in the south Bronx. Many are new to the country and have had a limited or an interrupted education. Parents are often unable to supply our students with the materials they need to be productive and due to budgetary restrictions, we are unable to provide students with everything they need to succeed. English Language Learners need multiple ways to learn and access language and grade-level content. These books and materials will give students the opportunity to access language and meet academic expectations. We hope you consider supporting our class as we have little access to resources when needed.
