I teach French 1 through 4 at a High School in Oakland. My students are as diverse as the city itself and I know they do not often hear French speakers except for me, an occasional parent from West Africa or a cousin from Quebec so I would like to make sure they are able to see the languages and cultures come to life with an interactive whiteboard. I could use the board to show them places on google earth or the National Geographic or other interactive app or extention. There are teacher to teacher classroom visits (kind of like pen pals in the past, but the whole class gets to meet virtually) and also the virtual books we have are on line so my students could work as a class on activities. My students and I really like cooperative activities and it allows us to have a little satelite French speaking country at home.
