I am the lucky teacher of 23 creative, energetic, ambitious, amazing students in an inclusive classroom where all types of learners, including English Language Learners, come together everyday to work through challenges and meet goals. My school is a Title I school, with 68% of students receiving free or reduced lunch and 12% of students have a language other than English as their first language. Many of my students come from low income backgrounds, but they do not let this hurdle stop them from putting in 110% everyday. We pride ourselves on hard work and collaborative learning in my class. Every day you can see students working together by partner reading, tracking fluency and comprehension, Reciprocal teaching, problem solving, and explaining their thinking.
