My students spend 45 minutes a day reading independently. While reading independently students are being a part of guided reading groups, literacy circles, and apply all previous taught reading strategies on their own. During that time they have the opportunity to treat the classroom as if it is their home. My classroom is in need of comfortable areas and hide away nooks that allow children the opportunity to curl up and get sucked into their book. The pillows and fleece blankets in this project will provide my students with flexible sitting, and the opportunity to help them be the best readers they can be. This project will allow my students to grow into becoming their best readers and writers!

About my class
