In order to provide my students with access to communication as and help caregivers and staff facilitate communicative access, I need to create durable, functional, and individualized picture boards for students who will benefit. As our special education department does not currently have access to a color printer on campus, this device will help me to efficiently create boards and pictures. A spiral-punch and spirals will allow me to create multipage books of various sizes. Retractable badges will be attached to simpler/smaller boards, helping staff and caregivers to practice vocabulary throughout all functional scenarios (bathroom, gym, art, waiting for the bus, at a restaurant, etc). A laminator will transform the pages into durable resources that my students can utilize for years to come. Communication is a basic human right, and I would appreciate any contribution you are willing to make towards helping my students access and use their voices.
