A classroom library in the Social Studies classroom is just as important as the Language Arts classroom. I want students to be able to connect with history through the form of books. I strive to create a place where students can see new parts of the world they wouldn't normally get to see without books. The classroom set of atlases will help to achieve this goal. Students can see what the other side of the world looks like and what it is like to live there. In addition, in a classroom that serves four different grade levels, it is important that there is a diverse set of books for students to enjoy. It just takes one book for a student to fall in love with reading. My goal is to provide my students with books on a wide range of topics and types of books. Some students love to read chapter books while others enjoy graphic novels. I want to make sure that my classroom library can reach all readers and learners.
