Due to a lack of resources at home and at school many of my students rarely have the opportunity to use computers and other technology. Most come from families where poverty, language barriers and everyday simple luxuries that we take for granted are few. They face many struggles in and out of school: 98% of the students in my school qualify for free lunch, 78% speak English as a second language and a handful of my students have a variety of learning disabilities. Many entered my classroom far below grade level. My students view school as a safe haven and the path to a better life. Every child deserves a high quality education and I am determined to give each student the best education possible.
