This Listening Library will promote our school-wide push for social justice awareness. My scholars, even though they are struggling readers, will be able to LISTEN to quality literature with characters that look like them - something that they don't often see. The literature will go hand-in-hand with our school-wide vision to incorporate diversity and inclusion of all! These books and CD's will strengthen my scholars' self confidence immensely. Not only will they be able to see characters that look like them, but they won't have to have anxiety about reading the text. The scholars will be able to LISTEN to the stories for enjoyment while strengthening their love of reading PLUS gaining self confidence and reading skills at the same time!
