Although my school works diligently to close the provision gap, the current books in my classroom library leave much to be desired. I am requesting titles that I know my students will love - Dork Diaries, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Last Kids on Earth, etc. Having countless high interest books will keep students engaged and learning at every moment of the day - all school year long! Reading for pleasure is more likely to determine whether a child does well at school than their social or economic background. Thus, having high interest books can be the ladder to success over the obstacles my students face!
