This donation will help our class in many ways. Not only will the new books help my current students during our book study, it will also be available for my future students. The condition of our previous books gave the impression that they were not important. My students had trouble taking pride in their assignments and projects because of the condition of their material. Many of the books are missing several pages which left students confused and questioning their comprehension. Having my own set will also allow me to let students take the books home so that they can read at their own pace and build confidence. Last year, my school district did major budget cuts. Among a cut in pay, teachers no longer were given access to classroom printers or ink. Due to the unreliability of the work room printers, teacher have had to purchase their own printers. These printers are used to create assignments, school fliers and material needed for activities. I have purchased my own printer but could use some help with purchasing ink. When I don't have ink, I'm unable to provide my students with the resources they need. It also makes it difficult to send work to parents who do not have access to computers at home.
