My students attend a high poverty school in a district with limited funds. The school is K - 5 with dedicated hard-working teachers who find joy in teaching their students. Teachers in this school try to find ways for their students to have opportunities to go on field trips, participate in community events, exercise through walking, hula hooping and yoga, enjoy a school garden and garden club, attend concerts, participate in science clubs and much more. In addition, many teachers write grants and find opportunities to obtain books and technology tools for our students. Our student population is excited about learning, especially when they have opportunities to learn in a variety of ways. Our students are always thrilled and appreciative when they receive any learning device or opportunity.
