Flexible seating allows learners with diverse needs to participate in the classroom in a way that works best for them. With these supplies, students with ADD and ADHD will get the physical stimulation they need while reading and writing, which will be important for a curriculum centered around the Reading Workshop and Writing Workshop models. In Reader's Workshop, for example, students get up to 30 minutes of independent reading time, which can be tough in plastic seats. Because students see me for a double block, without tools like exercise balls and cushions, it's difficult for students to be successful during that time.
