What are the things we love coming home to as adults? A soothing sound, comfortable seating, warm smells, and security measures that make us feel safe. My kindergartners are entering school next year during the scariest year of our lives. These 5 and 6-year-old children have witnessed their family go through a crisis no child has seen before. It is my mission as a Kindergarten teacher to provide them a safe, welcoming place they can call "home" for the day. Flexible seating: The CDC has advised that children be kept at least 6-feet apart during next year's school year. This is very difficult to do in a Kindergarten Classroom that has tables for the students. These plastic (wipe-able) cushions and stools will allow me to spread students out in various work stations while still providing them with a fun comfortable learning environment Carpet Tiles: The CDC has advised that children be kept at least 6-feet apart during next year's school year. These squares will provide a comfortable spot for students to sit spread out in the classroom. Name Badges: The CDC has advised schools to have staggered student arrivals and departures from school. This seems like a great idea but it also presents a dangerous situation of losing little ones. These name badges clearly present the name of the child, class and are made of a wipe-able plastic. Sound Soother: Help children enter the room calmly and stay relaxed while learning throughout the day Diffuser: Help eliminate harsh cleaning products for all-natural essential oils that emit a calming smell into the air that is safe for children. Thank you for bringing these deserving children a classroom I could not have without your help. You are making a difference in a neighborhood and school that really needs you!
