My students have varying degrees of communication needs and abilities. Having visual supports makes activities accessible for all, and enriches their daily learning in the process. Understanding concepts like days of the week, weather, and counting on a number line, are by no means beyond their abilities, but they learn best with specially-designed instruction. These visual supports and hands on materials make the content of these subject areas engaging and fun, while helping them make important connections to reinforce their learning. Having these resources, will allow me to modify lessons to better fit the needs of my students, and allow for them to experience greater success in the classroom.
