My students love getting comfortable while they read but unfortunately I only have a small rug as my reading area with two small arm cushions. My 5th graders love moving about the classroom and providing them with different areas to learn would be extremely beneficial to their engagement in the lessons. They love going to the rug to read but only a couple of students can fit on the rug. Being able to provide more room and different seating will encourage them to want to read more to work towards reaching their AR goal!! Also, I allow students to sit in the seating area to work on assignments, which they love! The pillow floor cushions and bean bag chairs will go toward motivating the students to want to read more. . The more reading my students complete, the better their reading comprehension will be which will result in improved grades and having more confidence in themselves!
