Greetings! Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and showing interest in helping me with my projects. I am a second year teacher currently teaching 1st grade at Sedgefield Elementary, a Title I school in Charlotte, North Carolina. I love teaching children to read and the world of possibilities. The twenty scholars--full of life, laughter, and energy come through my classroom door every day. Though deprived of many resources at home and at school, my students' favorite subject is literacy and I must say, they are pretty good, but I don't want pretty good, I want excellence. To me, excellence is your best. To be the best, you must be confident, optimistic, go-getters, and risk-takers. All these qualities describe my students. We lack resources though and, unfortunately, this is a data driven, common core nation, so I must prepare them for that long, never ending journey.
