My students no longer have access to independent reading material due to the fact that our school library was converted to a classroom three years ago. In my classroom, kids will have daily time set aside to complete independent reading and complete Accelerated Reading quizzes. My students desperately need access to book titles that interest them in order to pique their interest in reading. Having more opportunities to read will help with their reading skills which will, in turn, help them when end-of-year testing begins. I want to provide a comfortable reading space and independent reading materials for my students. I would love to be able to share my love of books and reading to my students.
