My students are an absolutely amazing group of children. Everyday has already proven to be a great reminder as to why I became a teacher. I have seen so many "ah ha" moments and light bulbs glowing over heads that I am constantly amazed by them. A great deal of these students do not come from much and have not had the opportunity to be provided with supplies. I would love to give them the chance to feel provided for, without the stress of feeling like others are judging them for not being able to afford supplies. Our school is Positive Behavior Intervention and Support School (PBIS) and they focus on praising students for their good deeds and behavior rather than pointing out the negative. This has proven to work wonders with my students and I hope that I can enforce the PBIS recognition in my classroom.
