I am a firm believer that all students learn in different ways and at different paces. I also know that some students need to wiggle, while others are content sitting still. I would like to add some flexible seating options in my classroom to allow students to choose what is best for them. Giving students the option to sit in a regular chair, wiggle on a Wobble Stool or learn at a low table on a floor cushion or inflatable donut ball will make our classroom more student-centered. My students will be able to make smart choices according to their individual needs. During center and small group time, students will be able to choose where they would like to learn. Whether it is sitting on a donut ball while using a program on the computer, using a floor cushion to practice building words, or being able to move around on a wobble stool at my small group table, they will hold a piece of accountability in making our classroom a successful learning place.
