Students will use the Osmo to immerse themselves in several content areas at once in order to initiate their cognitive learning while having fun at the same time. In our class specifically these will be used during small group rotations and allow for individual and collaborative work. The Osmo incorporates social, physical, and interactive elements. A hands-on play with learning. These resources would provide them with an additional way to practice word building, number skills, and shapes. It will also allow them to practice their sounds. As far as math goes, students will be able to work on different areas that they may be struggling with or even areas where they need enrichment such as math reasoning and number skills. Students in the classroom will be able to work on many kindergarten standards. The Osmo creates a fun learning environment for the whole class. Our class is a chance for these children to have experiences that will prepare them for first grade and beyond! Osmo has the ability to spark interest, not only in problem solving and critical thinking, but also in cooperative learning skills and teamwork. Osmo will help increase the learning interest in my students by providing them with necessary life skills to help them be successful.
