I work in the library at a very small rural Texas school. The students that enter our library do so for many different reasons. Some simply enter out of obligation to a class or assignment. Others enter to find a book with a story that can provide them with an opportunity to learn something new, to escape into a good book is enjoyable and allows them to get caught in a plot that enables them to temporarily forget their problems. Readers, from the youngest to the most mature read for different reasons. The ability to provide a vast supply of variety for readers on all levels and with a wide range of interest is difficult for a school with limited funding for books to fill our library.
