Through the use of this book, we will study and discuss social injustice and how everyday teenagers can overcome adversity and strife to make their lives better. This book is a “new classic” so beautifully written that even the most reluctant reader will find their voice in this novel. By using literature as mirrors and letting students see themselves in text, we can make a connection that will affect their entire education. Understanding viewpoints and acceptance are values this book will provide to the audience and hopefully help students change the world!
