As a first year teacher my vision is to create a space where my students can call a second home. We all have a place at home where we can go to when we are upset. With these materials, you will help me create this vision. Students will be able to read books about feelings and problem solving. Students will have access to visuals to communicate emotions when they are unable to use their words. This area will have different quotes that inspire students to have a great day! Also, I plan to make a tool box where all the fidgets will be stored. Fidgets are great for students to use during difficult times like transitions, group activities and to calm down. My goal is to provide students with strategies to teach them how to calm down. Using different breathing strategies like drain, star, pretzel, rainbow, snake and many more. Moreover, making a "friend bag" where I will store items used to help a friend calm down. Help me create a space where my students can regulate their emotions in a safe manner.
