My students are very bright and ambitious. I try and encourage them to look past their limitations and see a brighter future for themselves, because it is possible. I give examples daily of people who pushed past their circumstances and made something better for themselves. The area many of my students live in is very poverty stricken, students are exposed to some very harsh life experiences, but in the classroom they feel like they can just be normal everyday kids- learning what every other kid learns- in the classroom they see a future.
