We are a rural public middle school in Tennessee. Over 80% of our students are on the free-lunch program. Our county has a high unemployment rate and we struggle with parental involvement at our school. Our students score below average on math and language arts on our state test. Because of low scores, teachers have little or no time to incorporate games into learning. They must constantly teach standards and show written proof of mastery. I taught for 16 years before I became the librarian and I see how students miss game time. I would like to use these games as they come to the library and with our after-school tutoring so that it won't take away from instructional time in the classroom.
