The rug will be used for morning calendar and class meetings. By having individual spots, students have boundaries to help with focus and discipline. I have had my current rug for over 12 years. Although it is cleaned each year, the wear and tear of years and years of use has taken its toll. Students are able to transition easily by saying find a spot or form a pizza crust. These simple directions not only speed up transitions, but also allows students who can have difficult with transitions can find success. The rug chosen has word families on each block. As we are work on that skill, we can use the rug to support this skill.

About my class
