My Advanced Placement students will be given an opportunity to own their novels. The will engage in interactive reading that includes close reading and annotation, thus, maximizing their ability to synthesize and integrate literature. Students will own their novels and therefore, be able to engage in interactive reading. The students will be able to take their novels home and independent read and annotate the text. Project-based learning strategies to help students synthesize and critically analyze literature will be conducted in the classroom. This is an opportunity to enrich students' learning experience with scientifically based learning strategies that will help them to master the necessary academic readiness skills and the challenging demand of their Advanced Placement Literature and Composition course.
