Blanson CTE High School is a school that serves students from low socio-economical areas of Houston, and we are committed to help student find their interests and be curious. In my classroom in particular I encourage students to explore the basic concepts of biology and follow an inquiry approach to science education. My students spend many hours observing, experimenting and exploring, by doing this they become engaged in the various topics we cover and they are usually excited to come to class. In class students learn to work together, how to solve problems and to think on their feet when things do not work the way they thought they would. My goal is not only to teach them biological concepts, but to help them become successful parts of society. Because Blanson is a school that focuses on technology and career readiness, I also strive to provide students with everyday applications of what they learn.
