This project will allow students to read a first hand account about the Holocaust and then read a novel that sets up the idea of a utopian society. As students read the two novels, I would love to have them parallel how the utopian society resembles the Holocaust. Students will have the opportunity at the end of this project to create a living Holocaust Memorial for other students in the school to visit and listen to the students present their aspects of both the Holocaust and Utopian societies. As we complete this unit, we have many materials that we may ask for to help complete the memorial, but we do appreciate any help that we may get with this project. Students really learn from this unit; however, in education, we do not have the funding that we need to make this project as special as we used to. We have had to diminish the size of the project due to the lack of funding. Thank you for all of your help!
