Most of the classroom furniture is made of plastic milk containers and wood. Students work on the floor in groups. In the winter, the floor is cold. The bean bags and rugs will allow the students to experience what other students experience in 21st century classrooms. The students' desk are over 60 years old, and the wood sometimes snag their clothing. A State of the Arts classroom will provide the opportunity for students to relax in an environment that is conducive to learning. In addition, the majority of jobs in the area are minimum wage and consists of cooks and poultry farm workers. Most families consist of 3-4 children. It is almost impossible for parents to supply the needed materials that their children need to be successful. As a hands on teacher, the students will be able to move around the classroom and experience cooperative learning on a whole new level. Every child can learn, when provided with the needed necessities to expand their mind.
