About my class

Most of my students are from disadvantaged homes. Unfortunately, many lack the necessary support and supplies for completing innovative homework assignments such as technology-based projects. Though most are eager to learn, many lack a home environment conducive to learning. My students are no different than other fifth graders. They are eager about learning and ready to face educational challenges with the proper guidance. They are talkative, energetic, and very inquisitive. Their thought processes indicate a new hunger for learning. Our school is one of the oldest in the county. It is also a title I school on a mission to close the achievement gap between low-income and other students. Although this public school is in need of major upgrades, the students seem to take pride in it. For example, they willingly assist in keeping it clean. In spite of this, we are a school preparing students for the future one child at a time.
