The materials I am requesting will provide my students with the tools to collaborate, explain, and create scale models of the solar system in the classroom and outside of the classroom. A bonus of our school's location is the lack of light pollution. My students see so much of space without necessarily understanding it or grasping its expanse. We will be going outside to recreate a scale model of our solar system on the soccer field! During the pandemic, my students did not have the opportunity to do hands-on science. They didn't have the opportunity to collaborate or be with their friends. This project allows my students to learn AND to enjoy that learning experience.
