We are an inner-city high school of approximately 1200 students. Many of our students struggle with literacy and need extra support or interventions from our reading staff. Teaching complex texts is especially difficult as students are challenged to meet the expectations of Common Core standards. Differentiated instructional strategies and materials that meet the needs of these struggling readers are so important in order to prepare our students for college and career readiness.

About my class
