Despite many challenges our students have the opportunity to conduct original, college level scientific research and they are good at it. We were given the green light to dedicate one class period to Scientific Research and Engineering. This course emphasizes the methods, procedures and practices of independent scientific research through student participation in a year-long research project. In the first year of the research program we were named regional science fair small school of the year! Several students qualified for state and international science competitions, where they competed with students from over 60 countries and 40 states. These students are real research scientists.

About my class
