Some of my students are in the United States for the first time and they cannot speak English. Learning a new language can be extremely challenging to newcomers, which is the reason I would like to employ the best techniques in literacy instruction, but to also stay up-to-date on the most current technologies that will help meet their needs. I chose two ASUS Chromebook C202SA YS02 devices to help the students to translate vocabulary terms, assignment directions, social conversations. When students are having problems interpreting English during their assignment time, they can employ the Chromebooks for translations, vocabulary, research. The effect of technology on student learning will positively impact students’ confidence and ensure their success in the classroom and beyond.
