My twenty-two eager first graders are ready to tell stories anytime of the school day. They are all English Language Learners and are very curious of the English Language. They love narrating about their weekend walks to the park or about going to the market with their parents. They love animals, especially their class pets, a Beta fish and several guppies. Unfortunately, the neighborhood our school is in does not offer many safe opportunities. Often, my students will come in telling me about the new writing on our school fence. Graffiti, among others, is common problem, yet my students maintain positive attitudes.
