My students are in a county with no funding for print texts. A lack of available resources in various educational communities is nothing new. However, I firmly believe every child deserves to know their value and worth. What is better than putting brand new materials in their hands? This year, we discussed various books and options for learning, so my students have chosen a novel of high-interest, new concepts, and unlike anything they have ever read before. Students deserve the opportunity to have a book in hand, so they may walk through worlds not physically available, but achievable through imagination. For some of my kids, this is the only chance they have ever had for "travel." Having an opportunity to select a text as a group was truly exciting for my class! They are looking forward to reading and are proud of the collaboration they did together. Please help us achieve our goal and continue the collaboration we already started. The spark of excitement my students feel is just waiting on the fire of opportunity to carry out their aspiration. We truly appreciate you.
