My students come from a high diverse back ground. Most of my students are ELL learners and straight from refugee camps. Their English is limited or they do not speak English. Not only do we have a high ELL population but my school is also 100% free and reduce lunch. When my students enter school, they are already at a disadvantage compared to students at other schools. Having books in their home is not of high importance. My families are just trying to survive and support their household the best they can.
