I teach juniors and seniors at Medway High School in Medway, Massachusetts. My students are curious, interested, and wonderful. They ask tremendous questions and are never satisfied with simple answers. Medway High is a very typical suburban public school district. We are fortunate to have necessities, but there is no room left in the budget for extra books such as Maus. For the past two years, I have enjoyed teaching the Holocaust to my world history students. We watch and discuss the film Schindler's List and write essays about the nature of character and good decisions. I believe that this is the most important unit that I teach because my high schoolers are going to inherit a very complicated world and I want to prepare them for all of the challenges and opportunities that they will face.
