Bienvenidos! My name is Rachel Derusha Anderle and I teach Spanish & tech to over 750 brilliant & enthusiastic learners per week in grades PreK-5. YES, I have 50-minute classes with THIRTY different groups of students every week! I work at Quincy and Woodbridge, two medium-sized rural public elementary schools in Zeeland, Michigan. While 29 sections are building proficiency in Spanish, I teach one section of technology to students in our 5th grade "gifted & talented" program. In my classroom, safety is paramount, critical thinking & communication are built into every activity, & cultural education gives students opportunities to develop as collaborative, creative scholars. Together, they're learning more than basic Spanish & academic skills. With open hearts & minds, my students are learning to value and appreciate the unique & rich knowledge found across diverse cultures, communities, & languages worldwide!
