My students are all special needs students ranging from 3rd to 5th grade. They come from low income families in the East New York area and many have struggled to overcome their various disabilities. They love to read and share stories but are now hindered because of the lack of a proper leveled library. Many of the students do not have age appropriate books at home and in turn are not motivated to read. Within these few short weeks the students have absorbed what little books I was able to provide, and are begging for more. Supplying my students with these books and games will not only get them motivated to read even more, it will also open up so many doors through their imagination.

About my class
