My school is called Matchbook Learning at Wendell Phillips School #63. It is an inner-city school "innovation school" in a low-income area. The majority of my second-grade students experience major trauma and poverty. Most of my students can't afford school supplies or technology for learning. The students at my school are primarily Hispanic and African American. I have 27 students. We need leveled readers and multicultural books in the classroom library. We need durable headphones for technology. We need flexible seating and a rug for the calm-down area. Our school culture is very supportive of each other and we are dedicated to getting to know our students and families. We are now preparing to start the new school year on August 1, 2022. By donating to my cause, you will be uplifting the most impoverished sector of our nation, our future leaders of this country!
