My students are some of the most talented and creative children I have ever met. They make me a better teacher and a better person each and every day. However, we lack the funding to provide instruments that allow my students to explore their talents. This project will allow my students to focus more on their abilities rather than the adversity they face daily. They will use the new instruments to compose and improvise musical compositions. They will write poetry using figurative language. The poetry will be accompanied by original rhythm compositions and played with the new instruments. Some students may select to perform their original compositions at our school's talent show. This project integrates music, math, science, culture, reading, and language arts. It meets standards at various grade levels and numerous subject areas.
