It is my vision to create an inviting physical space for my students to learn. I teach in a square room, in a square school. Let's give them some curves! Middle school students thrive on color and movement. I would like to create a small learning center within my classroom to allow the fidgety students - which despite popular belief, is not all of them - to do so in a structured and safe manner. Growing up, I wasn't the student who tapped her pencil, jiggled her leg, or looked around the room again for the umpteenth time just in case something changed in the last five minutes. But I've taught hundreds who were and are that student. If you were that kid in school, or you are the parent of one of those children, I would appreciate your generosity in helping me create my vision in my small pocket in the mountains of North Carolina! What greater investment can we make other than our children?
