My special needs students come to the classroom with numerous sensory deficits and sensitivities due to their handicapping conditions. They do not access the school environment in the same ways as their neuro-typical peers. I would like to outfit their classroom with specialized seating, special areas in the classroom to allow them to self-sooth, and tools that help them remain calm during frustrating tasks. These delightful students (who just happen to have sensory stimulation issues) CAN have great success in a classroom that is tailored to meet their specific needs! Through this project, you will be helping me give these precious young people the tools they need to soar!
